Representative office of Kyrgyz MFA in Urumqi operates around clock in connection with coronavirus

Bishkek, Feb. 4, 2020. / Kabar /. The representative office of Kyrgyzstan in Urumqi (XUAR of China), in connection with the emerging epidemiological situation in China, operates 24 hours a day, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

Citizens of Kyrgyzstan are provided with information on flights, operating hotels, the state of the Kyrgyz-Chinese border, measures taken by the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic, etc, the report said.

Personal meetings are held, as well as explanatory work is conducting with students located in Urumqi.

At the request of some students, assistance was provided in the acquisition and delivery of food products at the place of residence to the hostel.

Citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic arriving from other provinces and cities of China are assisted with accommodation in hotels in Urumqi, including at night.

On Feb. 2, 2020, employees visited students at the airport of Urumqi to get acquainted with the situation of students who did not fly out due to the cancellation of a direct flight to Bishkek, and provide the necessary assistance.

On Feb. 4, 2020, with the direct assistance of the representative office of the Kyrgyz Republic in Urumqi, a number of issues related to the return to Kyrgyzstan of trucking drivers remaining in Chinese territory were settled. Earlier, after the appeal of the representatives of Kyrgyzstan, the local authorities of the Xinjiang Autonomous Republic of China also provided all possible assistance to drivers in the accommodation and meals of Kyrgyz citizens.
