Kyrgyzstan participate in international conference on water cooperation of Central Asian countries in Tashkent

Tashkent, Nov. 23, 2017 / Kabar /. Representatives of the National Water Partnership of Kyrgyzstan Abdybai Dzhailoobaev and Kasiyet Musabayeva take part in international scientific and practical conference: "25 Years of Central Asian Water Cooperation: Experience of the Past, Future Challenges", which is being held in Tashkent.

More than 200 experts, prominent scientists and specialists in the field of water management, including representatives of water management organizations of Central Asia, the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea, the United Nations and its Development Program, the Network of Water Organizations of Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia and other international and financial organizations take part in the conference.

The agenda includes a conference to discuss the issues of improving the legal basis for water cooperation and development of water diplomacy, financial and economic mechanisms in the management and use of water resources, the problem of the correlation of water resources and ecology, improving education, improving the skills of water sector workers and development at the national and regional levels.

The event is organized in honor of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Interstate Commission for Water Coordination (ICWC).

Ministers of water management in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan signed an agreement on water cooperation in February 1992 in Almaty. In accordance with this document, the ICWC was established and was approved in March 1993 by the heads of state of Central Asia.

Within the framework of the conference, the Central Asian International Exhibition "Water Technologies and Water Management - WATER-2017" is held.
