Bishkek, May 30, 2022. / Kabar /. On May 24-25, Tashkent hosted the High-Level Central Asian Conference on Evidence-Based Policy Development, Good Governance to Achieve Economic Development Goals (EGED).
The conference was attended by First Deputy Chairman of the National Statistical Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic Ainura Orozbaeva and the Head of the Regional Development Statistics Department of the National Statistical Committee Aigul Zharkynbaeva, the press service of the department reported.
During her speech, Orozbaeva noted the importance of evidence-based policies that contribute to the transparency of the activities of state bodies and their accountability to the public and the improvement of public administration.
“This is an important regional forum that highlights the role of data, their analysis of their use to ensure state policy measures in various areas, the implementation of a state program using data, as well as the important relationship with civil society during these procedures,” Ainura Orozbayeva emphasized.
As a result of the Tashkent Central Asian high-level conference, a joint declaration was adopted.
This declaration calls on participants to reaffirm their commitment to using the necessary data to ensure inclusive growth, prioritize the well-being of those in need and provide equal access to all members of society to opportunities to improve living standards, stimulate cooperation among the countries of Central Asia to widely use data for a transparent and effective process decision-making, contribute to the improvement of the quality of data and their subsequent integration into the process of developing public policy measures in various areas, the report said.
