Representatives of UNESCO invited to upcoming Third World Nomad Games

Bishkek, Feb. 12, 2018 / Kabar /. UNESCO representatives were invited to take part in the Third World Nomad Games, which will be held in Sept. 2018, the press service of the Ministry of Culture, Information and Tourism of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

Thw meeting was held between Deputy Minister Ainura Sultanbaeva and Representative of UNESCO in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan Krista Pikkat.

During the talks, Sultanbaeva expressed gratitude to UNESCO for the active cooperation and support in the field of preservation and promotion of cultural heritage. She stressed that Kyrgyzstan became a member of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee for the first time this year and did its best to adequately represent the country in the work of the Committee.

The leadership of the Ministry informed that Kyrgyzstan widely celebrates the anniversary of great Kyrgyz writer Chyngyz Aitmatov this year and emphasized that Aitmatov was the representative of Kyrgyzstan to UNESCO for many years. Sultanbaeva also told Pikkat about the forthcoming World Nomad Games and invited her to take part in it.
