Republican HQ urges people of Kyrgyzstan to observe rules of social distancing

Bishkek, May 8, 2020. /Kabar/. The Republican Headquarters for Preventing Import and Further Spread of Coronavirus Infection in the Kyrgyz Republic calls on citizens to observe the rules of hygiene and stick to rules of social distancing, especially not to organize and not to attend any family or traditional holidays and events with large numbers of people, the press service of the Government said.

"Remember that these actions could lead to tragic consequences that threaten your life and lives of your loved ones. The last case of contamination of several people at funeral confirms this. Do not put your loved ones’ lives at risk. In the case of symptoms similar to COVID-19, please do not engage in self-treatment, and contact the medical service in the place of residence," the report says.

First Deputy PM Kubatbek Boronov stated that local self-government bodies should pay attention to creation of corresponding conditions for activity of production companies. According to him, some mining companies inform about the issues that hinder their work.

"Local governments need to create conditions for production companies to operate. According to the information received, the work in this direction is not done enough, so I ask you to pay attention to these issues. Besides, I would like to once again emphasize that the resumption of economic activity should be carried out with strict implementation of the recommendations of the Health Ministry, including the observance of 1.5 meter distance between the workplaces, permanent ventilation of the rooms, installation of sanitary workers, wearing masks and other sanitary rules. Heads of organizations are fully responsible for the sanitary and epidemiological situation at the workplace and the health of their employees," Boronov said.

Health Minister Sabirzhan Abdikarimov provided information about current epidemiological situation in the republic.

During the meeting, the relevant services were instructed to strengthen the work on control over the observance of home quarantine by citizens and work on epidemiological investigations.

Local self-government bodies are preparing observation sites for compatriots arriving in the country.

As of May 8, Kyrgyzstan has reported 11 new cases of novel coronavirus, a total of 906, of which 226 are cases among medical personnel.

650 citizens have cured and discharged from hospitals.

12 have passed away.
