Osh, Feb. 16, 2021 / Kabar /. An event was held to mark the 32nd anniversary of the withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan at the memorial complex to the internationalist soldiers in Osh.
The event was attended by Vice Mayor of city Emil Shadykhanov, Deputy Chairman of the city council Baktybek Kanaliev, General Consul of Russia in Osh Roman Svistin, servicemen of the National Guard of the Kyrgyz Republic, internationalist soldiers, veterans and relatives of the families of the victims.
During the event, flowers were laid at the eternal flame at the memorial complex, a requiem meeting was held and a volley was fired in honor of the memory of the victims. During his speech, Vice Mayor Shadykhanov noted the importance of holding the event, stressing that it is necessary to remember all the deeds that the servicemen performed in those war years in the name of peace, in the name of the happiness of future generations.
The hostilities in Afghanistan took place from 1979 to 1989. Today, 350 internationalist soldiers live in Osh.
