Osh, Jan. 26, 2021. /Kabar/. An intergovernmental commission held on Tuesday a meeting with residents of Terek-Sai village of Chatkal region of Dzhlala-Abad Oblast due to wastewater discharge from the Eti Bakyr mining company into the Terek-Sai river.

During the meeting, Dzhalal-Abad Oblast Governor and member of the commission Absattar Syrgabayev reported the soil and water samples from the Terek-Sai river were sent to laboratories.

"In order to fully investigate the case, the commission also includes local residents. Measures will be taken within the law against those who allowed the wastewater. I urge citizens not to give in to unconfirmed information and not to go beyond the law,” Governor Syrgabayev said.

In turn, local residents have expressed a number of claims to the mining company and told about local environmental problems. At present, residents of Terek-Sai and Ak-Terek villages receive free drinking water every day in six cars, each of which has a barrel with one ton of clean drinking water.
