Bishkek, Mar.5, 2020. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosted its Board Meeting with participation of heads of structural subdivisions of the Offices of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Jogorku Kenesh (Kyrgyz Parliament) and the Government, responsible for international cooperation.
In the course of the meeting, chaired by Foreign Minister Chingiz Aidarbekov, the results of the ministry and Kyrgyzstan’s foreign institutions for 2019, and the main foreign policy objectives and priorities for 2020 were considered, the press service of the Kyrgyz MFA reported.
Minister Aidarbekov noted the most important results of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry’s activities in the reporting period.
In particular, the meeting participants considered approval of the new Concept of Foreign Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic, SCO and CSTO Summits in Bishkek, a number of state and official visits at the high and highest levels, first ever election of Kyrgyzstan to the UNESCO Executive Board - the governing body of the Organization, establishment of diplomatic relations with a number of countries, as well as a number of official and working visits of President Sooronbay Jeenbekov.
FM Aidarbekov outlined the key directions of Kyrgyzstan’s foreign policy in implementing the tasks, set by President Jeenbekov on economic and environmental diplomacy, green economy, promoting the development of regions of the republic, expanding integration processes in Central Asia, strengthening strategic partnership, solving urgent problems.
Issues of events planned for the current year were considered in detail.
The Board assessed the activities of structural units of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and foreign institutions of the Kyrgyz Republic for 2019.
The work of the Foreign Ministry’s Board resulted in adoption of relevant decisions.
