Bishkek, March 25, 2022. /Kabar/. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Ruslan Kazakbaev held a meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan (IRP) Shah Mahmoud Qureshi in Islamabad.
The press service of the ministry said that during the meeting, Kazakbaev congratulated Pakistan on the successful holding of the 48th session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the OIC, as well as the 75th anniversary of independence, and conveyed congratulations to the country's leadership on behalf of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov.
The sides also discussed in detail the issues of bilateral cooperation, primarily the expansion of trade, economic and investment cooperation, the increase in mutual trade and the holding of ministerial political consultations this year, the fourth meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on trade, economic, scientific, technical, cultural and humanitarian cooperation, the organization of visits at the highest and high levels.
The heads of the foreign ministries noted that in order to achieve the goals, it is necessary to actively involve investors and business representatives in the implementation of joint economic projects. At the same time, the sides agreed to continue cooperation within the framework of international organizations, in particular the UN, the OIC and the SCO, including for the speedy overcoming of the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan.
Thus, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic called on the Pakistani side to resolve the issue of excluding the universities of the Kyrgyz Republic from the black list of the Pakistan Medical Commission as soon as possible, saying that more than 10 thousand Pakistani students are currently studying in Kyrgyzstan.
In addition, Kazakbaev stressed the importance of resuming direct regular flights between Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan as soon as possible, which will intensify bilateral cooperation.
In turn, Qureshi noted Pakistan's interest in expanding bilateral relations with the Kyrgyz Republic at all levels, as well as in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the countries.
“In conclusion, the heads of the foreign ministries of the two countries expressed their mutual readiness to intensify bilateral full-scale cooperation and wished each other fruitful work for the benefit of the peoples of the two countries, the foreign ministry said.
Within the framework of this visit, Kazakbaev took part in a military parade in honor of Pakistan Day.
