RKDF: 55 projects worth $ 42.4 mn were financed in 2018

Bishkek, Mar. 19, 2019. /Kabar/. The Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund (RKDF) has financed projects worth $ 303.9 million, Chairman of the Board of the fund Erkin Asrandiev told at a briefing.

He said that since the beginning of the project, 1, 653 projects had been approved.

“Of these, 2% are large business, 98% - medium and small business. Speaking on the sum of money, 52.6% went to the agro-industrial sector, 11,% - tourism, 12.4% - transport and logistics, 11.6% - infrastructure development, 1.6% - communications and IT, 0.9% - financial activities, other industries, including the banking sector - 9.1%,” he said.

Asrandiev noted that in terms of regions, Bishkek leads the list - 341 projects at 89.7%, Karakol - 337 projects worth $ 21.5 million, Osh - 301 projects worth $ 29.1 million, Talas - 42 projects worth $ 2.1 million, Jalal-Abad - 211 projects worth $ 12.2 million, Batken - 63 projects worth $ 2.3 million.

“The lion’s share of projects falls on small and medium-sized businesses, but in terms of the sum of money provided large business is ahead. The greater part of the projects are implemented in the regions, but Bishkek and Chuy oblast lead n terms of the amount of money provided. This is the result of targeted work in 2018 within the framework of the Year of Regional Development declared by the President,” he added.

In total, 55 projects worth $ 42.4 million were financed in 2018.

“The fact is that in 2018, business in the Kyrgyz Republic began to intensify only approximately in September. And most of the projects came to us by the end of the year. We carried out work, selected the TOP 200 large companies, met their representatives. We also took a list of large taxpayers from the State Tax Service and worked with them,” he said.
