Role of People’s Assembly of Kyrgyzstan in implementation of Kyrgyz Zharany concept discussed in Bishkek

Bishkek, Feb. 7, 2022. / Kabar /. The Ministry of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of Kyrgyzstan, together with the regional office of the PeaceNexus Foundation, held a meeting with the participation of leaders and activists of ethnic associations of the People’s Assembly of Kyrgyzstan, as well as their youth wing.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Chyngyz Esengul uulu noted that the Kyrgyz Republic is a multi-ethnic country and stressed that strengthening the unity of the people is, first of all, the duty of every citizen and that self-recognition as Kyrgyz Zharany (Kyrgyz citizen) is a key development factor.

He also noted the important role of the People’s Assembly of Kyrgyzstan in the implementation of the Kyrgyz Zharany Concept, which takes into account the needs of ethnic minorities, therefore, the Ministry of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy is currently taking comprehensive measures in this direction.

During the event, the participants were explained about 5 priority areas of the Concept for the Development of Civil Identity of the Kyrgyz Zharany in the Kyrgyz Republic for the period 2021-2026. In particular, the role of the People’s Assembly of Kyrgyzstan in the implementation of the Kyrgyz Zharany Concept was discussed.

The Kyrgyz Zharany Concept was approved by Decree of the president of the Kyrgyz Republic dated November 13, 2020 and includes 5 priority areas:

1. Formation of a conscious understanding of the civic identity of the Kyrgyz Zharany.

2. Strengthening the unity of the people of Kyrgyzstan, increasing tolerance and maintaining respect for the values ​​of diversity.

3. Development and promotion of the state language, preservation and development of multilingualism.

4. Creation of equal conditions in access to management and decision-making processes.

5. Increasing confidence in political institutions and public authorities.

At the meeting, the participants developed their action plans for the implementation of the Kyrgyz Zharany, and also pledged to provide assistance for the concept.
