Bishkek, Dec. 24, 2018. /Kabar/. Rural libraries in the regions of Kyrgyzstan are going to be turned into centers of personal development, Minister of Culture, Information and Tourism Azamat Jamankulov told at a press conference at the Kabar News Agency today.
Reformatting of book bases will be carried out as part of regional development activities and accompanied with data digitization projects. But at first the process will be carried out on a pilot basis.
“In our country there is a lack of kindergartens, which is a great problem. In order to prepare children for school, such a project was initiated in eight libraries for two to three hours daily to conduct preparatory classes. By 2019, the project will include 40 libraries across the country,” Jamankulov said.
In addition, as the minister pointed out, the potential of libraries is planned to be used for personal growth of all residents of rural areas, filling up the literary base with various information on business, finance, law and other areas. For a quick exchange of information and updating the database, the Internet and the necessary equipment will be provided in the library.
