Russia confirms readiness to supply Sputnik V vaccine to Kyrgyzstan in near future

Bishkek, April 21, 2021. / Kabar /. First Vice Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Artem Novikov met in Moscow (Russia), a working meeting with Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, co-chairman of the Intergovernmental Kyrgyz-Russian Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical and Humanitarian Cooperation Alexey Overchuk.

According to the press service of the Kyrgyz government, during the meeting, the progress of joint work on the implementation of the agreements reached during the visit of President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov to the Russian Federation on Feb. 24-25 this year was considered.

Artem Novikov emphasized that Kyrgyzstan has officially registered the Sputnik V vaccine against coronavirus infection, in connection with which the country is ready to include the Russian vaccine in the vaccination program and begin deliveries of the vaccine to the territory of the republic. The Russian side confirmed its readiness to start deliveries of the Sputnik V vaccine for the population of Kyrgyzstan in the near future.

In addition, the sides discussed the legal status of the stay of migrants from the Kyrgyz Republic on the territory of the Russian Federation, as well as the issue of regulating the legal status of foreign citizens staying on the territory of the Russian Federation in violation of the established order of stay.

The Russian side informed about the possibility of formalizing the legal status of foreign citizens by June 15, 2021 without applying administrative measures and the need to leave the territory of the Russian Federation.

During the meeting, topical issues of bilateral cooperation and interaction in the field of digitalization were also discussed. Agreements were reached on the preparation of proposals and projects aimed at developing investment cooperation, economic integration, humanitarian cooperation and in other areas.

In the coming weeks, the sides will prepare a list of issues for discussion at the planned meeting of the co-chairs of the Intergovernmental Kyrgyz-Russian Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical and Humanitarian Cooperation.
