Russia provides military and technical assistance to Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, Nov.27, 2019. /Kabar/. Russia has handed over two MI-8MT helicopters and a radar station to Kyrgyzstan, the press service of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic said.

According to its data, on Nov.27, 2019, a solemn ceremony of receiving and handover of 2 MI-8MT helicopters and P-18 radar station provided by the Ministry of Defense of Russia as non-refundable military-technical assistance to the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic took place on the territory of the aviation-technical maintenance unit of the Air Defence Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic (Kant town).

The ceremony was headed by Deputy Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic Nurlab Chomoyev, and Deputy Minister of Defense of Russia Alexander Fomin.

The Russian side provides military and technical assistance to the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic in accordance with the provisions of the Interstate Agreement regulating the deployment of the United Russian Military Base on the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic.

In accordance with the agreements between the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation, two MI-8MT helicopters and nine BRDM-2M helicopters have already been delivered in April this year.
