Russia to donate to Kyrgyzstan COVID-19 tests, train domestic doctors to detect British strain

Bishkek, Feb. 21, 2021. / Kabar /. Kyrgyzstan's Minister of Health and Social Development Alymkadyr Beishenaliyev met on Saturday with Head of Rospotrebnadzor (Russia's Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing) Anna Popova.

The press service of the Kyrgyz Health Ministry said that the meeting took place in Russia's Moscow.

As a result of the talks, an agreements were reached on the provision of grant assistance to the Kyrgyz side in the form of PCR test systems kits for 100 thousand tests for COVID-19 and ELISA tests, as well as to provide Kyrgyzstan with another mobile autonomous laboratory.

Russia will assist in training profile specialists - Kyrgyz medical workers on epidemiology, diagnostics, treatment of actual infectious diseases, will train Kyrgyz specialists to identify British and other new strains of coronavirus.

The sides also agreed to conduct joint research work involving the scientific community to monitor the epidemiological situation related to COVID-19 in the countries.

In addition, the Kyrgyz side requested assistance in obtaining Russian vaccines, as well as mass vaccination of working citizens of Kyrgyzstan in Russia.

Minister Alymkadyr Beishenaliyev expresses gratitude to the Russian Government and the head of Rospotrebnadzon for providing comprehensive support to Kyrgyzstan in the fight against COVID-19.
