Bishkek, March 2, 2021 / Kabar /. Following the first foreign visit of Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov to Russia on Feb. 26 this year, a meeting was held between First Deputy Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Artem Novikov and his Russian counterpart Alexei Overchuk.
The press service of the Kyrgyz Government reported that the meeting debated the full range of issues of bilateral cooperation, including the practical implementation of agreements reached at the level of the heads of the two states.
The sides discussed in detail the participation of Kyrgyzstan in Russia’s COVID-19 Free Travel program. An agreement was reached to assess the compliance of Kyrgyz medical laboratories with the requirements of the Russian Consumer Surveillance for participation in this program.
This decision is expected to eliminate the need to obtain grounds for Kyrgyz citizens to enter the Russian Federation.
The deputy prime minister of the two countries emphasized the importance of deepening cooperation in the field of education; in particular, an agreement was reached to increase free education quotas for Kyrgyz students in Russian universities and to increase the number of Russian school teachers under the Russian Teacher Abroad program.
