Russia to purchase USD 1.2 mln worth coronavirus vaccine for Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, Oct. 27, 2021 . / Kabar / . The Russian Government has decided to allocate more than $1.2 million for the purchase and delivery of 200,000 doses of Sputnik Light coronavirus vaccine to Kyrgyzstan.

The press service of the Russian Embassy in Kyrgyzstan said that the humanitarian aid will be donated by the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations.

Kyrgyzstan has started COVID-19 vaccination campaign on March 29 after receiving Chinese donated Sinopharm vaccine. In addition, the country inoculates its citizens with Sputnik V and AstraZeneca vaccines.

A total of 957,383 doses of coronavirus vaccine have been administered in Kyrgyzstan since the start of the vaccination campaign. Of these, 726,899 people have received both doses of vaccine.
