The filmmakers from India and Arab countries were previously looking for locations suitable for filming in Kyrgyzstan. And now their Russian colleagues have also taken up this task. The coast of Issyk-Kul turned into the main meeting place for Russian and Kyrgyz directors, producers and screenwriters for four days. Representatives of the Union of Cinematographers of the Russian Federation and MOSKINO came to the film cluster "Issyk-Kul - Lake of Peace". They got acquainted with the ideas for new films and series of their Kyrgyz colleagues, looked at potential film locations and even conducted test shootings. The diversity and picturesque nature of Kyrgyzstan exceeded their expectations.
During the visit of the Russians, the unions of cinematographers of the Russian Federation and the Kyrgyz Republic signed an agreement on cooperation.
The idea of the project was born in May this year during the Eurasian Economic Forum in Bishkek. Now it will become an annual event. The next film cluster "Issyk-Kul - Lake of Peace" is scheduled for July 2023.
