Russian has been, is and will continue to be an official language in Kyrgyzstan – Jeenbekov

Bishkek, Mar. 27, 2019. /Kabar/. Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov spoke at the opening of the I Forum of Rectors of the Russian Federation and the Kyrgyz Republic.

The event with the participation of heads of higher educational institutions is taking place today at Ala-Archa state residence and will include plenary sessions on the possibility of expanding cooperation between universities, and upon their completion about 70 documents are expected to be signed.

“Today, all Forum participants will have an excellent opportunity to discuss the tasks of higher education institutions at the present stage of development of our countries. Within the framework of the Forum, it is important to discuss several fundamental areas in terms of exchange of experience and future cooperation,” Jeenbekov said.

He expressed confidence that at the Forum, attention will be paid to modern approaches of joint training, and mechanisms of joint research activities will be determined.

“A special place should be occupied by the issues of promoting the development of socio-cultural and educational integration of the Eurasian space. Researches aimed at studying the history, culture and traditions of our peoples are very important for the future of our countries. We all understand perfectly well that education promotes respect for different cultures and languages,” the President said.

In support of his words, he stressed that the Russian language has been, is and will continue to be an official language in Kyrgyzstan.
