Osh, Jan.21, 2020 /Kabar/. An alley of Russian Newspaper was opened on Monday in Batken Oblast, the press service of the Batken Oblast state administration reported.
The Russian Newspaper alley was opened in honor of the Cross Year between Kyrgyzstan and Russia.
Governor of the Oblast Akram Madumarov, Mayor of Batken town Mamyr Toichuyev, Director of the Russian Newspaper on Central Asian states Dmitry Yevlashkov and journalists took part in the opening.
During his speech, Governor Madumarov noted Russia is a permanent partner of Kyrgyzstan.
"We are interested in achieving even greater success together. Let this alley improve cooperation between journalists of the two countries," he said.
Exchange of experience between Kyrgyz and Russian journalists and assistance to schools with Russian studies was also discussed.
In addition, Russian journalists visited two veterans of the Great Patriotic War.
The declaration of 2020 Cross Year of Russia and Kyrgyzstan became known during the state visit of Vladimir Putin to Kyrgyzstan at the end of March of 2019.
About 100 political, economic, cultural and humanitarian events are planned within the framework of the Year.
