Bishkek, Aug. 16, 2020. /Kabar/. Russian specialists who arrived in Kyrgyzstan to help in fight against COVID-19 coronavirus infection, participated in the development of a new clinical protocol, a pulmonologist from Russia Liliya Kozyreva told during a briefing Sunday.
According to her, there was a joint discussion on the fourth clinical protocol, as there are new drugs and new approaches to treatment of viral infection.
"In contrast to the previous protocol, changes have been made to respiratory support and to COVID-19 intensive care. There are changes in etiotropic treatment as an alternative scheme for the use of anticytokine drugs and genetically engineered biological drugs to treat complications such as cytokine storm and respiratory distress syndrome," she added.
Deputy Health Minister of Kyrgyzstan Mademin Karatayev, in turn, recalled that earlier the Ministry of Health was providing general statistics when only COVID-19 positive patients were registered. On July 17 the Health Ministry combined the data with cases of community - acquired pneumonia.
"In the first three versions, the emphasis was mainly on how to treat coronavirus and its complications. And the fourth version is designed with the treatment of pneumonia patients in mind. It is already ready and the order will be signed the next day for use by doctors," promised the deputy minister.
