Russia to provide Kyrgyzstan with fire-fighting equipment

Bishkek, Feb. 26, 2021. / Kabar /. Russia's Ministry of Emergency Situations is ready to provide the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan with humanitarian aid in the form of fire-fighting equipment, Kyrgyzstan's Emergency Minister Bobek Azhikeyev said on the air of the Birinchi Radio.

The minister added that a meeting was held with his Russian counterpart Yevgeny Zinichev as part of Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov's working visit to Russia.

"We raised two issues at the meeting. It's the training of our cadets in Russia and the professional development of our personnel. We have about 40 cadets studying there right now. We asked to transfer them to free training or at least to preferential training," said Azhikeyev adding that Zinichev supported his proposal.

As a second issue discussed at the meeting Minister Azhikeyev called Russia's provision of $20 million in humanitarian aid to Kyrgyzstan's Emergency Ministry.

Within the framework of this aid, Russia will provide Kyrgyzstan with assistance in the form of fire-fighting equipment and a helicopter.
