Russia’s MegaFon to begin its operations in Kyrgyzstan in October

Bishkek, Sept. 15, 2023 / Kabar /. The MegaFon company of Russia will begin its activities in Kyrgyzstan in October of this year, Kyrgyztelecom reported.

MegaFon does not plan to launch its own cellular network, but will deal exclusively with digital projects.

In this regard, the management of Kyrgyztelecom OJSC met with Director for National Projects of MegaFon PJSC, Alexander Koloshin, who was simultaneously appointed director of the representative office in the Kyrgyz Republic.

The sides discussed possible ways of cooperation. In particular, they discussed the implementation of a number of pilot projects in such areas as improvement of the urban environment, ensuring transport safety and digitalization of production processes.

Kyrgyztelecom expressed its readiness, as a national operator, to provide all the necessary infrastructure for their implementation.

The sides also considered the possibility of a joint proposal for digital solutions for the b2b and b2g sectors.
