Sadyr Zhaparov meets with Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov

Bishkek, Aug. 6, 2021. / Kabar /. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov met with President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the press service of the Kyrgyz president said.

The meeting took place within the framework of participation in the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of States of Central Asia in Turkmenbashi city of Turkmenistan.

During the meeting, the leaders of the two countries discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation, including trade and economic interaction, import of natural gas and electricity from Turkmenistan to Kyrgyzstan, tourism development, etc.

They also discussed the implementation of the agreements reached during the official visit of Sadyr Zhaparov to Turkmenistan.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted with satisfaction the results of this official visit, during which detailed, fruitful meetings and negotiations were held, promising areas of cooperation were outlined.

The President of Turkmenistan expressed confidence that the Advisory Council will give a good impetus to the development of not only bilateral cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan, but also at the regional level with other brotherly countries - Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.

He said that at the Consultative Meeting, the leaders of the countries of the region have an opportunity to discuss many topical issues, including those of a regional nature and issues on the international agenda.

The President of Kyrgyzstan expressed gratitude to the Turkmen side for the traditionally warm welcome of the Kyrgyz delegation and hospitality.

Sadyr Zhaparov confirmed the readiness of the Kyrgyz side to take all measures to further strengthen and develop bilateral cooperation, as well as interaction within the framework of international organizations.

He also stressed that he considers the holding of the Consultative Council to be relevant, taking into account the existence of common issues between the countries of the region for discussion and joint decision.

The Kyrgyz President added that such serious issues as energy, trade, transport, transit, as well as confronting modern challenges, require a collective exchange of views and the search for solutions.

The leaders of the two countries outlined joint plans for further interaction, expressed their readiness to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields.
