Sadyr Zhaparov about role of People's Kurultai

Bishkek, Dec. 15, 2023. / Kabar/. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov spoke about the role of the People's Kurultai(Assembly).

The head of state noted that the People's Kurultai is a powerful tool that ensures transparency and accountability of public administration.

“Given the diversity of views and opinions, the People’s Kurultai provides an opportunity to discuss current issues of national importance and develop joint proposals to promote reforms. The effectiveness of the People's Kurultai as an instrument of dialogue is related to how seriously the authorities take the issues raised and the opinions expressed in it.

“I believe that today’s national meeting was attended by representatives of all administrative districts and cities, religious organizations and migrant workers, selected on a competitive basis from among the population, familiar with the problems of public life and having their own views on how to solve them,” he said.

The president also expressed respect and gratitude to compatriots from abroad who came to the People's Kurultai with the intention of contributing to the development of the country and sharing their opinions.

“Attaching serious importance to the role and place of the kurultai is a requirement of our democracy. This is a mechanism that allows every citizen to participate in the formation and development of the state. Let's hope this mechanism improves over the years. I am proud that we have begun to use this important institution, which is passed down from generation to generation, where the voice of our people will be heard,” concluded Sadyr Zhaparov.
