Bishkek, May 5, 2023. /Kabar/. A solemn ceremony of opening a new headquarter of the Kyrgyz Football Union (KFU) was held in Bishkek with the participation of the President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov and FIFA President Gianni Infantino.
In his speech, the Kyrgyz president noted that FIFA considers investment in the development of football one of its main priorities.
“The project for the construction of a new administrative building of the Kyrgyz Football Union is a clear evidence of FIFA's assistance in the development of sports infrastructure, as well as its support for regional members of the organization.
Of all sports, football is very close to me. I closely follow the developments in the world of football, and I cannot but emphasize the support that FIFA provides,” he said.
Sadyr Zhaparov also stressed that today the KFU has specific plans for the further promotion and development of football in the country.
“We look forward to further fruitful cooperation with FIFA in this direction. I accept with great pleasure any initiatives for the development of domestic football and am interested in the active participation of our country in FIFA projects,” the president summed up.
It should be noted that the construction of a new administrative building of the KFU was carried out under the project of the FIFA Forward program.
Gianni Infantino arrived in Kyrgyzstan for the first time at the invitation of the President of the KFU Mederbek Sydykov.
