Bishkek, May 26, 2022. / Kabar /. Presidents of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov and Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held talks in Bishkek in a narrow format.
The two leaders discussed a number of topical issues of Kyrgyz-Kazakh bilateral cooperation, prospects for their further development.
Sadyr Zhaparov congratulated Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and the fraternal Kazakh people on the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the countries, adding that he considers it his personal duty to strengthen cooperation with Kazakhstan.
He noted with satisfaction that the comprehensive cooperation between the two countries, based on mutual understanding and support, is constantly deepening.
Sadyr Zhaparov expressed hope that today's meeting would be a good opportunity to determine the prospects for further development of joint cooperation.
In turn, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev stressed that Kyrgyzstan is a God-given neighbor and closest ally of Kazakhstan, and the Kyrgyz people have been the closest to the Kazakh people since ancient times.
He noted that this year the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations is being marked and during this time, friendly relations between the countries have strengthened, a political dialogue has been established, interstate and inter-parliamentary relations have been established.
President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has arrived in Kyrgyzstan on Thursday for an official visit.
A number of bilateral documents are expected to be signed on the results of talks with the Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov.
The leaders of the countries will also take part in the plenary meeting of the Eurasian Economic Union via videoconferencing.
