Bishkek, April 19, 2024 / Kabar/. President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov made a statement to the media following negotiations with President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
The head of state noted that Kyrgyz-Kazakh cooperation is developing dynamically, political and economic dialogue is supported, and contacts are being made at all levels.
The president informed with satisfaction about the results of the bilateral negotiations, which traditionally took place in a friendly, warm and trusting atmosphere.
A wide range of political, economic, investment, cultural and humanitarian issues were discussed.
Sadyr Zhaparov called the signing of the Agreement between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Kazakhstan on deepening and expanding allied relations that meet the fundamental interests of the peoples of the two countries as the most important result of the negotiations.
Particular attention was paid to the further development and deepening of cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, investment and agriculture.
The issues of implementing joint projects in the field of transport and communications, as well as the joint rational use of water and energy resources in the region, were considered.
A new intergovernmental agreement on mutual promotion and protection of investments was signed.
During the negotiations, border issues were discussed. An agreement was reached on joint work to resume the activities of checkpoints on the Kyrgyz-Kazakh state border, including Kichi-Kapka and Kamyshanovka.
These events, of course, help increase bilateral trade and relieve congestion at existing checkpoints, where at times there is a congestion of vehicles, the president noted.
Special attention is paid to the prospects for the development of cultural and humanitarian ties.
President Sadyr Zhaparov expressed confidence that the parties were able to consolidate positive changes in relations, fill them with new qualitative content in line with strategic partnership and alliance.
