Sadyr Zhaparov appeals to citizens and parties that do not recognize election results

Bishkek, Nov. 29, 2021. / Kabar /. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov appealed to citizens and parties that do not recognize the results of the parliamnetary elections, held on Nov. 28.

In his appeal President Zhaparov said that he would like to appeal to the parties that are making a fuss, saying that the CEC (Central Election Commission) server failed and the votes were stolen.

“No one will stop you from counting the ballots manually. Recalculate manually. Until all of them have been fully counted and the parties expressing grievances are satisfied, the ballots cannot be moved. If it turns out falsification by the CEC, then all CEC members will be held accountable. They will answer with their heads. Like the authorities did not interfere in the electoral process, no one interfered in the work of the CEC itself. If an interference has occurred, then CEC members must clearly indicate who did it. Do not be afraid of people, be afraid of God,” wrote the head of state.

The CEC's website had some disruptions after the end of voting in the parliamentary elections. The data on the website disappeared and the site did not display the information. Later the site was updated with different data.

CEC chairwoman Nurzhan Shaildabekova explained it that at first the wrong program was uploaded to the site.

Parliamentary elections in Kyrgyzstan were held on Nov. 28. For the first time, 90 Parliament members were elected through a mixed electoral system with 54 of them to be elected according to a proportional system from political parties, and 36 others elected from single-mandate constituencies on a majority basis.

The candidates with the largest number of votes will enter parliament in single-mandate constituencies, and parties with at least 5 % of the vote will win in a single constituency.

A total of 21 political parties and 286 candidates took part in the elections.

According to the preliminary data of the automatically reading ballot boxes, the following parties may enter the parliament - Butun Kyrgyzstan, Alliance, Yiman Nuru, Yntymak, Ishenim and Ata-Zhurt Kyrgyzstan.
