Bishkek, Dec. 25, 2024 . / Kabar / . President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov has arrived in St. Petersburg (Russian Federation) for a working visit.
The flight of the Kyrgyz leader landed at Pulkovo International Airport.
President Zhaparov was met by Governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov and other officials.
Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration Muratbek Azymbakiev said that the Kyrgyz leader will participate in the informal meeting of Heads of State of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and the regular meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council.
"During the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, the results of the EAEU's work in the year of the Armenia's chairmanship will be summarized, topical issues of the Union's activities will be considered, and promising directions of deepening integration processes will be discussed.
A number of important decisions and documents are planned to be adopted, including the signing of the Agreement on a unified customs transit system of the EAEU and third party(ies) and the Protocol on Amendments to the Treaty on the Union regarding the special mechanism in conducting investigations and making decisions on the application or non-application of special protective, anti-dumping and countervailing measures.
At the informal meeting of CIS leaders, the results of cooperation in 2024 will be summarized, the main tasks for the future will be defined, and an exchange of views on topical international and regional issues will take place," Azymbakiev added.
