Bishkek, Dec.3, 2024. /Kabar/. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov took part in an official reception organized on behalf of Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol as part of his official visit to the Republic of Korea.
The event began with the singing of the anthems of the two countries, after which the heads of state made welcoming speeches, the Kyrgyz president’s press service said.
President Yoon Suk Yeol noted that this is the first visit of the Kyrgyz president in the last 11 years and emphasized the commonality of historical and cultural values.
“Historically, our countries have been influenced by ancient Altaic culture, resulting in the Korean and Kyrgyz languages having a lot of similar words and the same sentence structure. We share a common respect for our elders and honor traditions. I think it is obvious that we have close cooperation in various spheres, especially in the economy, given our similar culture,” the Korean President said, adding that today Kyrgyzstan, under the leadership of President Sadyr Zhaparov, is confidently moving toward reforms and building a new society.
Yoon Suk Yeol emphasized that Korea, as well as the entire international community, is witnessing the new leap of the Kyrgyz Republic.
In his speech, Sadyr Zhaparov expressed gratitude to the Korean side for the warm welcome and noted that the bilateral talks inspire further deepening of partnership. According to him, the sides are now strengthening the foundations of friendship, seeking to build long-term and lasting relations that will benefit both peoples.
“The bilateral agreements signed, including the Joint Statement, are a clear indication of our commitment to strengthening ties and striving for joint successes. We are actively cooperating in key areas such as trade, investment, education, culture and science,” the Kyrgyz leader noted.
“In recent years, the number of schoolchildren and students wishing to study in Korea has increased, which testifies to the high level of education and scientific achievements of your country,” President Zhaparov said.
He expressed confidence that relations between the two countries will continue to develop in the spirit of comprehensive partnership and mutual understanding, leading to new achievements.
