Bishkek, July 26, 2024 . / Kabar / . President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov participated in the Paris Summit "Sport for Sustainable Development. Faster, Higher, Stronger - Together for a Better Future".
The event, organized by the International Olympic Committee and the Office of the President of France, was attended by about 500 participants: heads of state and government, leaders of international organizations, athletes and representatives of the sports movement, as well as financial development institutions.
The event will allow countries and sport stakeholders to renew their determination to achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals, in line with the Paris 2024 organizing committee's climate strategy, and as part of a broader commitment to future generations.
The summit aims to mobilize efforts based on the belief that sport is an important driver of sustainable development and aims to set a new course for sport events with a focus on legacy, impact and sustainability.
Major championships and Olympic Games will increasingly take into account social aspects such as health, nutrition, education, inclusion and equality. They will also play a key role in solidarity, sustainable investment and environmental awareness, especially in the area of sports infrastructure and the drive to reduce the carbon footprint of major sporting events.
