Sadyr Zhaparov awards culture minister of Uzbekistan badge "People's Artist of Kyrgyzstan”

Bishkek, Dec. 13, 2024. / Kabar /. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov received Minister of Culture of Uzbekistan Ozodbek Nazarbekov, the press service of the head of state reported.

The head of state emphasized that culture is an important link in strengthening friendly ties between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, linked by a common history, language, culture and traditions.

"Our peoples are united by centuries-old ties of friendship and good neighborliness. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1992, bilateral ties have reached a new level, and culture plays a key role in strengthening this partnership," Sadyr Zhaparov noted.

The president recalled that during his state visit to Uzbekistan, the Days of Culture of Kyrgyzstan in Uzbekistan were held in the cities of Tashkent and Bukhara, which included a gala concert dedicated to Kyrgyz-Uzbek friendship, exhibitions and film screenings.

The head of state expressed confidence that the upcoming Days of Culture of Uzbekistan in Kyrgyzstan in 2025 will be an important event for further rapprochement between the two peoples.

Sadyr Zhaparov congratulated Ozodbek Nazarbekov on being awarded the title of "People's Artist of the Kyrgyz Republic", noting his significant contribution to the development of cultural ties and strengthening friendship between the countries.

In turn, the Minister of Culture of Uzbekistan Ozodbek Nazarbekov expressed his sincere gratitude for the honor and high appreciation of his work, emphasizing his commitment to strengthening fraternal relations between the peoples of the two countries.

The minister noted that the state visit of President Sadyr Zhaparov to Uzbekistan has become an important milestone in the history of friendship and strategic partnership between the peoples. This visit has opened a new page in the development of bilateral relations.

"Uzbekistan is happy to host events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Chingiz Aitmatov, a great writer and cultural symbol of the Kyrgyz people, as well as a beloved writer in Uzbekistan," Ozodbek Nazarbekov emphasized.

He also noted that currently the leading theaters of Uzbekistan, together with their Kyrgyz colleagues, are actively working to create a joint theater project that will become a symbol of the creative interaction of the two peoples.
