Sadyr Zhaparov congratulates people of Kyrgyzstan on Orozo Ait holiday

Bishkek, May 2, 2022. / Kabar /. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov congratulated the people of Kyrgyzstan on the Orozo Ait holiday.

Congratulating the people the head of state said that Orozo Ait is a traditional holiday of Kyrgyz people.

“From time immemorial, our ancestors on this day went to visit neighbors, relatives, friends, reading the Koran for the dead, expressing good and kind wishes. Today, by fasting, striving for spiritual purification, mercy, forgiveness, tolerance and abstinence from bad deeds, we see off the holy month of Ramadan. Therefore, I deeply hope that during the thirty days of fasting, we all not only strengthened our health by restricting ourselves in food and drink, but also abstained from bad words and thoughts, gossip, slander and slander. In honor of Orozo Ait, we ask the Almighty to hear our prayers and worship, grant us blessings and rewards, deliverance from sins and difficulties,” he said.

The president also mentioned that due to the restrictions imposed because of the coronavirus pandemic, holiday prayers in the country were not performed on the old square of the capital. Today, continuing the tradition, I gave permission to hold a festive Ait prayer in the square, and, Glory to the Almighty, we meet again in a festive mood. After all, freedom is the main value of our people. Therefore, we strive to strengthen democracy and the unity of our people, inter-confessional and inter-ethnic harmony, protect freedom of religion, freedom of speech and human rights. As the Koran says: “Strive to get ahead of each other in good deeds,” on this day of prayer I want to call on you to help the weak, strengthen family and friendly ties. I deeply believe that these good deeds will be the reason for the contentment of the Almighty, and for our country it will be a contribution to its further,” he noted.
