Sadyr Zhaparov: Construction of CKU railway is historic event that opens new era in development of transport in region

Bishkek, Dec. 27, 2024. / Kabar /. The construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway is a historic event that opens a new era in the development of transport in the region, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov told at the ceremony of launching the construction of this railway.

"I would like to sincerely thank our partners, the People's Republic of China and the Republic of Uzbekistan for their assistance in the implementation of this project. The China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway is not only a transport corridor, but an important strategic bridge connecting the countries of the East and the West. More precisely, the new railway corridor will be one of the branches of the Eurasian continental bridge, which opens the way to the markets of the southeastern, western and Middle Eastern countries. This route will be able to ensure the delivery of goods from China to Kyrgyzstan, and then to Central Asia and the Middle East, including Turkey and even the European Union. This project will strengthen interregional communications and is able to meet the goals of diversifying transport routes, and, as an international transit hub, increase the competitiveness of the region," said Sadyr Zhaparov.
