Bishkek, Jan. 3, 2024. / Kabar/. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov sent a telegram of condolences to Emperor Naruhito and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida in connection with the earthquake, the press service of the head of state reported.
“I received with deep regret the sad news of the destruction and casualties as a result of the past earthquake. Please convey my words of deep sympathy to all the Japanese people, families and loved ones of the victims. We share the pain of irreparable loss. I wish a speedy recovery to all those affected by this tragedy,” the telegram says.
A series of strong earthquakes occurred on January 1 in Ishikawa Prefecture. The strongest one was 7.6magnitude earthquake.
According to the latest data, about 50 people were killed and dozens were injured.
According to the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Japan, there were no dead or injured citizens of Kyrgyzstan as a result of the earthquakes that occurred in Japan.
