Bishkek, April 27, 2021. / Kabar /. President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov familiarized with the course of implementation of the child protection reform on the example of the Specialized Rehabilitation Center for Children and Family located in Bishkek, his press service said.
Director of the Center Cholpon Arykpaeva informed the president about the work of the institution which provides care for children without parental care from birth to four years of age and orphans.
She added the Center previously housed about 100 children, but as a result of reforms to simplify adoption procedures, the number of foster children has decreased significantly. The Center currently houses 24 children, in addition to about a hundred children with special needs from all over the country who undergo rehabilitation courses.
The president toured the building of the institution, visited the children's groups, and inquired about the condition of the children's health.
Sadyr Zhaparov got acquainted with an electronic portal for adoption services with an automatic database of children. This information system covers boarding institutions for children of all forms of ownership.
In addition, the president talked to the staff of the center, thanked them for care for the children and listened to their problems and wishes.
Also, the Kyrgyz leader told about the plans for a phased increase in the salaries of public sector employees.
Summing up the meeting, Sadyr Zhaparov handed over to the director of the Center a certificate for KGS 700 thousand (about $ 8,250) in order to purchase a car for transportation of children.
