Kyrgyzstan intends to develop partnership with German Airbus company

Bishkek, Nov. 28, 2024 . / Kabar / . Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov held a meeting with President of Airbus Europe Johan Pelissier in Berlin.

During the conversation, Zhaparov expressed Kyrgyzstan's readiness to develop partnership relations with Airbus, noting the high level of technology and standards set by the company in the field of global aviation.

He emphasized that the development of the aviation industry is one of the key priorities for Kyrgyzstan. The president noted the importance of already implemented projects.

At the meeting, Zhaparov paid special attention to the prospects of supporting the national Asman Airlines, emphasizing the renewal of the air fleet and the introduction of modern technologies. He spoke about plans to lease two Airbus airplanes (A320 or A321 models) in the first phase of cooperation, which will be used for flights to Europe.

President Zhaparov said that next year Kyrgyz airlines are expected to be removed from the so-called black list of the European Union (EU Air Safety List). In recent years, active work has been carried out to improve aviation safety, introduce international standards and modernize infrastructure, which has significantly increased the chances of lifting the restrictions.

In case of successful operation, it is planned to further expand the aircraft fleet in cooperation with Airbus in the second phase.

The president expressed confidence that cooperation with Airbus will be an important step in the development of the aviation industry of the country, and noted the readiness for substantive negotiations for further expansion of cooperation.

At the end of the meeting, Sadyr Zhaparov invited Johan Pelissier to visit Kyrgyzstan in the near future to continue the dialog directly with representatives of the aviation industry of the country.
