Bishkek, Nov. 27, 2024. /Kabar/. On November 26, as part of an official visit to Berlin, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov met with Federal President of the Federal Republic of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
The press service of the head of state reported that, welcoming Sadyr Zhaparov, Frank-Walter Steinmeier thanked the President of Kyrgyzstan for his visit to Berlin and expressed confidence that the results of today's talks will give a new impetus to Kyrgyz-German relations.
Frank-Walter Steinmeier noted that the regularity of meetings between Germany and Kyrgyzstan at the highest level is a clear indication of the growing dynamics of bilateral relations. The German President noted the importance of expanding cooperation in key areas such as investment, hydropower and education.
President Sadyr Zhaparov emphasized that in recent years there has been a positive dynamic in the development of political dialogue between Kyrgyzstan and Germany. He noted that the official visit of the Federal President of Germany to Kyrgyzstan in June last year was a significant event that made a significant contribution to the promotion of bilateral cooperation.
In addition, Sadyr Zhaparov highly appreciated the activities of the dialogue platform "Germany - Central Asia" initiated by the German side, which is successfully functioning to deepen regional cooperation.
The head of Kyrgyzstan also emphasized that the development of Kyrgyzstan's partnership with the European Union occupies an important place in the country's foreign policy. He noted that the signing of the Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement with the European Union in June of this year creates new opportunities for further strengthening political dialogue and cooperation with both the European Union and Germany.
Sadyr Zhaparov also spoke about large-scale reforms in Kyrgyzstan aimed at improving the well-being of the people, strengthening the economy and creating a favorable investment climate. Particular attention was paid to reforms in the fight against corruption, protection of entrepreneurs' rights, as well as issues of implementing strategic infrastructure projects, such as the construction of the Kambarata HPP-1 and the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway.
In addition, President Sadyr Zhaparov emphasized the extreme importance of joint efforts to counter climate challenges and noted that Kyrgyzstan welcomes Germany's initiatives in the field of sustainable development, including the Green Central Asia program, and seeks active cooperation with Germany in the field of climate change.
