Bishkek, May 21, 2021. / Kabar /. “We need to identify new competitive advantages of each EAEU member state and the feasibility of using them in increasing the integration potential of the Union,” President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov said today speaking at a regular meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council (SEEC), held via video conference.
The press service of the Kyrgyz president reported that in his speech the head of state noted that integration within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union, without a doubt, was and remains a priority direction for the Kyrgyz Republic.
“We intend to continue our active and fruitful work within the Union, based on the principles of ensuring mutually beneficial cooperation, observing the principles of a market economy and taking into account the national interests of the parties," Zhaparov said.
The president paid special attention to the idea of positioning the Union as the center of the Greater Eurasian Space.
Noting that the potential of the geographical location of the Union is exceptional not only by regional but also by world standards, which allows it to act as a bridge in the East-West and North-South directions, Sadyr Zhaparov considers it necessary to focus the attention of the Union's international activities on establishing cooperation with countries in these areas, proceeding from economic expediency. “In the future, the creation of an infrastructure for a commodity distribution trading system will not only reduce transport costs, but also help unite our continent together, providing a link between resources, production and sales markets,’ he said.
“The global challenges we faced last year and in the first half of this year revealed the need to strengthen joint efforts aimed at overcoming the post-crisis consequences. The result should be the provision of a sustainable pace of development of the Union by introducing new mechanisms of trade and economic interaction, contributing to a prompt response and adaptation to any changes in the external environment," Sadyr Zhaparov emphasized.
