Bishkek, Sept. 21, 2023. /Kabar/. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparo, as part of a working visit to New York, held a meeting with President of the Republic of Korea Yoon Suk Yeol.
The leaders of the countries discussed the main aspects of bilateral political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
Sadyr Zhaparov, thanking the President of Korea for the initiative to organize this meeting, expressed hope that it will give new impetus to the further development of interstate relations between the countries.
He emphasized that strengthening and developing cooperation with Korea is one of the priorities of the country's foreign policy. Kyrgyzstan considers the Republic of Korea as one of its important and priority partners in the Asia-Pacific region.
The head of state expressed great interest in expanding interaction with Korea in all priority areas of cooperation.
Speaking about the initiative of the Kyrgyz side to restructure external debt in exchange for “green projects” in the economy, Sadyr Zhaparov also proposed to consider this option of cooperation in a bilateral context.
The head of state noted with satisfaction that bilateral political dialogue has been actively developing in recent years. At the same time, he emphasized that the last visit at the level of the head of state from Kyrgyzstan to Korea took place ten years ago. There has not yet been a visit at the level of the head of state from the Korean side to Kyrgyzstan.
Taking this opportunity, Sadyr Zhaparov invited the Korean leader to visit Kyrgyzstan for an official visit.
In turn, Yun Suk Yeol, welcoming Sadyr Zhaparov, noted that he was glad to meet him personally.
He emphasized with particular satisfaction the recently intensified bilateral relations between Kyrgyzstan and Korea and the opening of a direct flight, which will accelerate the development of trade, economic, investment, tourism and cultural cooperation between the countries.
Yun Suk Yeol said that he was informed about the construction of new cities and major investment projects in Kyrgyzstan, emphasizing the readiness of the Korean side to take part in their implementation.
During the conversation, Yun Suk Yeol emphasized that Korea, for its part, is ready to share its advanced experience in the use of advanced technologies with everyone who needs it.
In conclusion, the President of Korea expressed gratitude to Sadyr Zhaparov for the invitation to visit Kyrgyzstan, noting the readiness to strengthen the political dialogue between the two countries.
