Sadyr Zhaparov meets with Valentina Matvienko

Bishkek, May 8, 2023. /Kabar/. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov met with Chairwoman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia Valentina Matvienko as part of an official visit to the Russian Federation.

An exchange of views took place on a number of topical issues of Kyrgyz-Russian cooperation, including the development of inter-parliamentary relations between the two countries.

Matvienko noted with satisfaction the richness and content of the program of Zhaparov's official visit to Moscow.

“Today you had talks with President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin. We know that they were very fruitful, meaningful and constructive in terms of the agreements reached on further deepening the strategic partnership and alliance between the two states. I want to assure you that we, the senators, are ready to do everything necessary to promote this cause, ”she said.

At the same time, she expressed her sincere gratitude to the president of Kyrgyzstan for participating in the events dedicated to the 78th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, which emphasizes the special spirit of relations between the peoples of Russia and Kyrgyzstan and the unity of the states in preserving the memory of the heroic deeds of their ancestors.

Matvienko stressed that the Russian-Kyrgyz friendship, which has passed the test of the war, is a reliable foundation for strengthening multifaceted cooperation. She summed up her words by saying that this visit of the president of Kyrgyzstan will give a powerful impetus to the further development of bilateral relations.

Zhaparov, in turn, noted that the Russian Federation is one of the main partners of the Kyrgyz Republic.

“We always meet with Russian colleagues with great pleasure, we always find full understanding on all issues. Thanks to a rich political dialogue, positive dynamics in the development of Kyrgyz-Russian relations are maintained,” the head of state said.

The president highly appreciated the role of parliamentary diplomacy as an important foreign policy resource in maintaining and strengthening bilateral interstate relations.

At the end of the meeting, the head of state expressed confidence that the negotiations during his official visit and the agreements reached would contribute to strengthening bilateral cooperation and further dynamic development of the Kyrgyz-Russian strategic partnership.
