Bishkek, Nov. 27, 2021. / Kabar /. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov today, November 27, met with Chairman of the Executive Committee - Executive Secretary of the CIS Sergei Lebedev, who arrived in the country as part of the CIS observer mission.
During the meeting, the Kyrgyz leader greeted the guest and expressed gratitude for the special attitude and attention to observing the upcoming parliamentary elections of the Kyrgyz Republic, and also noted such a representative Mission of CIS observers that arrived in Kyrgyzstan to monitor the preparation and conduct of parliamentary elections.
President Sadyr Zhaparov recalled that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the formation of the CIS, noting that Kyrgyzstan fully supports the common aspiration and is aimed at further strengthening the Commonwealth, strengthening its position in the international arena and ensuring dynamic development.
The head of state drew special attention to one of the integral and important elements of interaction within the Commonwealth - the activities of the CIS Observer Mission.
“The Kyrgyz Republic pursues a consistent foreign policy and stands for the conscientious fulfillment of its international obligations, including the holding of open, transparent and democratic elections, as well as ensuring the free expression of the will of citizens,” he said.
President Sadyr Zhaparov noted that Kyrgyzstan has made every effort to conduct the electoral process on the basis of democratic principles in accordance with national legislation and the country's international obligations.
He noted that the work of members of observer missions in all regions of the republic testifies to the openness of the Kyrgyz side for international observers and the country's desire to ensure transparent and democratic elections.
The head of state drew special attention to the monitoring and assessment of the process of preparation and holding of elections by observer missions, including from the CIS, which were given as a result of the observation. He added that they are important for Kyrgyzstan in terms of obtaining an objective overview of the country's electoral system, identifying and eliminating possible gaps in the legislative framework, as well as improving existing procedures.
In turn, Sergei Lebedev praised the organization of the upcoming elections.
“We attach great importance to the holding of parliamentary elections in Kyrgyzstan and express our sincere hope for the further progressive development of the country in the post-election period,” he said.
The chairman of the Executive Committee - executive secretary of the CIS wished successful parliamentary elections at a high level.
