The meeting was opened by the President of the Federal Republic of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier, after which all heads of state of Central Asia delivered speeches
In his speech, President Sadyr Zhaparov noted that the holding of today’s meeting at the initiative of the President of the Federal Republic of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier indicates Germany’s growing interest in the further development of comprehensive cooperation with Central Asia.
“I express my sincere gratitude to the German side for the warm hospitality provided and the creation of a new regional format of interaction.
Germany has always been the initiator of intensifying dialogue with Central Asia. Your country was the first to recognize the independence of the young states of our region. In 2007, at the initiative of Germany, the first European Union Strategy for Central Asia was adopted, which served as the basis for our further interregional cooperation. Today we are reaching the level of strategic partnership. We consider this initiative to be very timely,” said Sadyr Zhaparov.
The President emphasized that against the background of global geopolitical upheavals, the international community's interest in our region has increased significantly. Currently, there is active cooperation in a regional format with Russia, China, India, and the Gulf countries.
“Today Central Asia is a dynamically developing region with sustainable economic growth and new opportunities for development.
It is rich in many types of minerals, water resources and varied energy sources.
All this provides a good opportunity for meaningful trade, economic and investment interaction, not limited to the adoption of political declarations,” said Sadyr Zhaparov.
In terms of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Germany, the head of state emphasized the emerging intensification in recent years. There are positive dynamics at the political level, as well as in the field of trade and economics. The volume of German investments in the economy of Kyrgyzstan is gradually growing. At the same time, the bilateral potential has not yet been fully exploited. The Kyrgyz side is counting on a more active presence of German entrepreneurs in the country's economy.
Sadyr Zhaparov spoke for constructive and open initiatives of Central Asian and German partners across the entire spectrum of the joint agenda.
