Bishkek, April 9, 2021. / Kabar /. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov met with President of the International Judo Federation Marius Wieser and Vice President of the organization Obeid Al Anzini.
Issues of enhancing cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the International Judo Federation, plans and directions for the development of domestic sports were discussed, the Kyrgyz president’s press service reported.
The head of state expressed gratitude to the leadership of the Federation for their trust, thanks to which the Asian and Oceania Judo Championships among men and women was held in Kyrgyzstan for the first time.
Sadyr Zhaparov highly appreciated the organization of the event, stressing that the championship was held at the highest level.
The president added that he closely watched it and noted the importance of this sporting event for Kyrgyz judo, which has become one of the priority and developing sports in the country.
Marius Wieser congratulated Kyrgyzstan on the first gold medal at the Asian and Oceania Judo Championships, wishing it to become a motivation for the younger generation to go in for sports.
He noted with satisfaction the plans of the Kyrgyz side to popularize and develop judo in the country, adding that the Federation will continue to support Kyrgyzstan in this direction. He proposed to consider the possibility of joint cooperation to improve the material and technical base in order to improve the conditions for practicing judo in the republic.
Marius Wieser informed that the International Judo Federation includes 204 federations on 5 continents of the planet and annually holds up to 30 major sports competitions.
Expressing his readiness for further fruitful cooperation, he invited Sadyr Zhaparov to visit the World Judo Championship, which is scheduled for June this year in Budapest.
Sadyr Zhaparov, noting the successful cooperation with the International Judo Federation, expressed confidence that in the future joint cooperation will be expanded.
Asian and Oceania Judo Championships among men and women was held in Bishkek from April 6 to 9, 2021.
