Bishkek, June 24, 2022. /Kabar/. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov met with heads of the delegations of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic Speaking Countries (TurkPA) in Cholpon-Ata, Issyk-Kul Oblast.
The Kyrgyz leader underlined that TurkPA established in 2008 has become an important platform for inter-parliamentary cooperation, his press service said.
"This is where our parliamentarians discuss important issues, share information, and exchange experience and best practices in priority areas of work.
Kyrgyzstan, as one of the founding states of TurkPA, is interested in the establishment of this inter-parliamentary association as a model of solidarity and unity of our countries," he said.
Sadyr Zhaparov noted the importance of applying new approaches in solving problems and overcoming challenges and threats of the new times.
"We must understand that today's profound changes in the world give us a historical chance to reconstruct our relations, fill them with new content, and put such Turkic values as dignity and honor at the top of the agenda," the president of Kyrgyzstan stressed.
The Kyrgyz leader noted that these new relations in the Turkic space should become a model of interstate relations of the new time, adding that building a renewed and prosperous Kyrgyzstan is the main goal for the country's leadership.
"Kyrgyzstan is ready for fruitful work with Turkic brotherly peoples on the basis of these immutable values. I am confident that together we will overcome all difficulties and make our contribution to building a better world," concluded Zhaparov.
Chairman of the Majilis of Kazakhstan - Chairman of the TurkPA Yerlan Koshanov also addressed the participants of the meeting with the Kyrgyz president.
He noted that the XI plenary session of the TurkPA is held on the shore of Issyk-Kul Lake, where heads of parliaments of the Organization arrived to "synchronize their watches".
The speaker of the Kazakh parliament emphasized that thanks to contacts at the level of heads of state, relations in the political, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres between the countries are developing successfully, and the Organization, in turn, is making every effort to further intensify interparliamentary cooperation.
He reminded that Kazakhstan took over the chairmanship of TurkPA from Azerbaijan in 2021. During the period of the chairmanship all previously planned activities have been implemented. Koshanov also added that at today's plenary session the chairmanship will be transferred the Kyrgyz side.
