Bishkek, Nov. 20, 2023. / Kabar/. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov today, as part of an official visit to Japan, met in Tokyo with President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Akihiko Tanaka.
The sides noted with satisfaction the established trusting relations between Kyrgyzstan and Japan through the activities of the Agency.
President Sadyr Zhaparov outlined a positive trend in the development of friendly relations between the governments of the two countries and thanked JICA for the many years of support provided to the country.
In continuation of the existing interaction between the Kyrgyz side and JICA, Sadyr Zhaparov proposed to consider issues of financing projects in the field of renewable energy sources, as well as study the implementation of large infrastructure projects in the field of transport and communications, which would have a positive multiplier effect.
In turn, JICA President Akihiko Tanaka, welcoming the distinguished guests, noted that he was glad to see members of the delegation of the Kyrgyz Republic in Japan, led by President Sadyr Zhaparov.
The head of JICA emphasized that the Japan International Cooperation Agency pays special attention to partnerships with Kyrgyzstan and intends to focus the organization’s attention on those projects in Kyrgyzstan that are aimed at developing the economy and agriculture, energy and increasing tourism, export potential, as well as development road transport infrastructure in Kyrgyzstan. In this regard, Akihiko Tanaka confirmed his readiness to continue cooperation in priority areas and effectively implement joint projects.
He is also convinced that this official visit of President Sadyr Zhaparov to the country will be a great contribution to the strengthening and development of bilateral relations between Kyrgyzstan and Japan.
