Sadyr Zhaparov meets with Kassym-Jomart Tokayev

Bishkek, Aug. 6, 2021. / Kabar /. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov met with President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev as part of the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia in Turkmenbashi, Turkmenistan, the president’s press service said.

The sides discussed topical issues of bilateral strategic partnership in various areas, as well as prospects for the development of mutually beneficial relations.

The issues of crossing the border by citizens of the two countries during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic were also discussed.

Sadyr Zhaparov noted with satisfaction the current activity and high level of Kyrgyz-Kazakh bilateral cooperation.

He drew attention to the fact that today's negotiations are traditionally held in the spirit of allied relations and strategic partnership, which characterize the relationship between the two states.

The Kyrgyz president focused on the fact that Kyrgyzstan is determined to further expand political, trade and economic, transport, logistics, cultural and humanitarian ties with brotherly Kazakhstan.

He stressed that there is a clear understanding between the two countries that by joint efforts it will be possible to ensure the further build-up of the entire range of bilateral ties.

In turn, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that there should be no unsolvable issues between the fraternal countries, which are Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan, and stressed the need to continue deepening mutual contacts.

The President of Kazakhstan noted that Sadyr Zhaparov raised good initiatives within the framework of today's Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and expressed his readiness to support these proposals at various international platforms.
