Bishkek, Jan. 26, 2024 /Kabar/. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov took part in the opening ceremony of the perinatal center at the National Center for Maternal and Child Protection of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The construction of the center is the result of successful cooperation between the Cabinet of Ministers and the relevant ministry with the German Development Bank (KfW) within the framework of the project “Maternal and Child Health IV-V”.
In his welcoming speech, the president expressed gratitude to the German Embassy and the German Development Bank for their close cooperation and tireless support.
Sadyr Zhaparov emphasized that the opening of the perinatal center is a significant step in achieving strategic goals to protect motherhood and care for the health of newborns. The center, built on the basis of an agreement between Kyrgyzstan and Germany, is a high-tech institution that provides medical care to pregnant women and newborns with pathologies.
The head of state expressed confidence that the perinatal center will become not only a place of high-quality treatment, but also one that will help improve the skills of medical workers from all over the republic.
“Given that the main wealth of our country is people, our main responsibility is to take care of the health of every newborn and every mother,” the president said.
The joint efforts of Kyrgyzstan and Germany in the field of healthcare are aimed at achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals, including improving well-being and ensuring a healthy lifestyle, the president noted.
Sadyr Zhaparov also emphasized the importance of cooperation with Germany in solving global problems such as food security, water supply, sanitation, climate change and the fight against inequality.
In conclusion, the president expressed hope that the perinatal center will become an integral part of caring for the health of mothers and children, reducing child mortality.
Perinatal center with a total area of 4 thousand square meters includes modern operating rooms with high-tech medical equipment, fully equipped intensive care rooms for mother and child, luxury wards and other medical services. The center will begin functioning in February 2024.
