Bishkek, Oct. 15, 2020 / Kabar /. Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov declared himself acting president of the country at a meeting with protesters in Bishkek.
“President Sooronbay Jeenbekov wrote a letter of resignation. Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh Kanat Isayev refused to act as president and also wrote a statement. The powers of the president and the prime minister were transferred to me,” Zhaparov said.
On Oct. 14, the president of Kyrgyzstan signed a decree appointing Sadyr Zhaparov as the country's prime minister.
President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov announced today that he has made the decision to resign.
